Welcome to a guided hike in lovely Leitrim.
Arroo Mountain 523m overlooks the Glenade valley as you drive along the R280 southwards from Kinlough to Manorhamilton.
It has commanding views of Truskmore and Tievebaun
The summit is marked by its Trig Pillar and a substantial cairn and commands a panoramic view of Lough Melvin. It is part of the Dartry Mountain range.
This hike takes us along the beautiful Arroo trail to the base of the hills before climbing along the southern flank of a river valley below Arroo Mountain. We then cross over heathery terrain to reach the summit. The hike continues crosses the plateau to the much sought after Keelogues Lakes known as "Tin Whistle Lake". There is a lovely white sandy beach at one end and you can even take a swim or sit and enjoy one of the most beautiful spots in County Leitrim.
